complaining
Addicted to writing…. Ehmm perhaps since last months, almost everyday I have to switch on to my PC. I do not know that this habit is growing fast in me. My son was mumbling at me one night. oopss I realize that with this new job I most probably neglecting them. Sorry son!!!... one day my elder son inarticulate something that I was unsure what was it. Actually, we went to my mom house. I need to rush and left my kids there for one occasion. Suddenly my son said ‘Mama, staying here is so boring. I wish I stayed somewhere else. Grand ma house is awfully small”. My son started to complain. Ehmmm sebesar- besar rumah mak tok ni… dia kata kecik!! I said to him…’sekejap ja mama gi kerja, nanti mama balik kita gi playground. Ok tak?” He was still in a bad mood. Recently, I think my sons already smart enough to complain me on something that did not suit them. Any crop up things, they will come out with the question or disagreement. Can I say that complaining is often a learned behavior. Many children learn to complain by watching their parents complain. If you are committed to keeping your child’s complaints to a minimum, then it is important that you minimize the amount you complain. It is always far more productive and satisfying to determine that “your glass is half full instead of half empty.” I would say that we should teach our kids when it is appropriate to complain and when it is not. Negative comments seldom make things better. Indeed, they usually make things worse. We should encourage our children to be positive as much as possible and to utilize negative response only when necessary.
………………………………………………………………………………………
Still think about complaining. Why are we complaining? We are complaining when we are not pleased with something and say so. Complaining is (I think) saying that something is wrong. It is finding fault with something. When you are with someone who keeps complaining: How do you feel? What do you think?... and what do you do? When we are with someone with this character, I suppose that you might feel unhappy and disappointed. I might say that it is not fun to spend time with the person or perhaps, you might decide you do not want to be around them. For me it is important to treats others the way you want to be treated. If you do not want the people you are with to complain, you must not complain. Too much complaining can make you feel bad. It can cause you to think about the bad things around you instead of the good things. Thinking about the bad things around you can put you in a bad mood. When you are in a bad mood, you will probably have a bad day. You might say or do things that hurt you or the people and things around you. Complaining can be very harmful, sometimes. This does not mean we should keep quiet when something is wrong. On occasion, you might need to complain. Think before you complain. Complain if only it will help change something that needs to be changed. Accept things, as they are if they cannot be changed. Do not continue to complain!!!. Do it nicely when you complain. Try not to shout!. Try to suggest ways to solve the problem. Once you sure your complaint is understood, stop complaining. Listen what others have to say. If they suggest a good solution to the problem, follow it. Remember to think about the good stuff around you. Talk about them. Do not complain unless you need to.

Trip to Langkawi vs Muadz fever
Kuala Perlis, almost everybody knows about this angler’s village. Located 10km from Kangar, having nearly 10,000 populations, nearby Langkawi, and always full by the tourist during school and public holiday. Although, my home just across the jetty to Langkawi, I just can count how many time I make a visit to that legend island. Normally, people go there to buy glassware, batiks, and seafood stuff. Last year, I went there with my family. The intention was to visit
Break…………
Last night my eldest son (Muadz Mirza) was, sick (high fever plus coughing so badly). He could not sleep, every minute he woke up, and then I gave him some medicine. Alhamdullilah, he was getting better. He asked me; Mama why do I get ill sometimes. I tried to answer the simplest way. I hope he understands. I told him that when a part of his body stops working properly, he would get ill. Illness often happened because things called germs got inside your body, dear. Mama, what are germs? Oops, another question pops up from him. Ok, let me put this way, germs are tiny living things, far too small to see. There are billions of them around, on and in you all the time. Most germs will not hurt you, but some of them can make you ill if they get inside you, perhaps through a cut, your blood gets to work on the germs and kill them. Is that ok with the answer, my son? Mama, do I need injections? Abang, (I addressed my son) yes if a drugs need to be put straight into your blood. Nobody likes it, but a little scratch or prick is better than being ill for a long time. Abang was happy with the answer. He slept well until this morning. Thanks God!! Last year abang was admitted to hospital due to bronchitis. Sad when I was looking at him…skinny, tired, refused to eat…maybe he still remembered of having many tube around him… ehmm…. Hope not again.

Arrogant vs Humble

Thursday, should I say "thirst-day"?. In my clinic, this day is always full by the crowd. Normally I have to attend about 100 patients per morning. You can imagine how exhausted I am during that day. Usually I started at 8.30 in the morning, and finish by noon. No tea break in the middle!!!! Getting slimmer!!! I think nowadays people are keened to visit government clinics; perhaps, our facilities are better than private sector or maybe the gentleness of the docs, and also not to forget the front liner (our staffs) are upgrading themselves to be more corporate oriented. I am very happy to see this scenario goes on. As a coordinator of my clinic, my target is to ensure the surrounding community aware of their oral health and willing twice a year to come for a dental check-up. The motivation in me, hopefully can influent my staff to work harder helping the community on the knowledge of dental health and try to change their perception. At the rural area, (like my town) the mentality of taking good care of teeth rarely becomes the priority. Why? Maybe teeth are not so important. But.... if you have very bad condition of teeth, you can even do your work!!!!...then the dentist will be in your mind. This is bad. You come to see us because you got sick with your own teeth....we also become bored with you!!!! Patient usually request for extraction. I said all right, if the tooth was none on the gum surface, but if the tooth still has a good support why need extraction. As a dentist we should explain any alternative treatment so that they know "ooo boleh selamat lagi gigi ni...". Many dentists (same as medical) neglect patient -doctor relationship. Patient is human. They want us to pay more attention on their problem. Take a minute , listen to their story. Give them some idea, if the case worst, then make a referral. For me to be a doctor is easy, you pass every exam, then you are qualified. But to be a first class, compassionate doctor is not that easy. Title of "Dr" itself is not to be arrogant, snobbish etc. If we have those kinds of character, better think twice. Don't be a doctor...wallahuallam
